What an interesting time we are living in!  WIth all the earth changes and shaking up, one wonders how long our own Pacific NW will remain unrattled.

There are also some new  research papers being released that are shaking up the medical status quo as well.

Do you suffer from dry eyes, dry mouth, dry skin and stomach or digestion issues?  If so, you may be missing a simple trace mineral.  Many people, in trying to make healthy changes, have eliminated salt from their foods.  That eliminates a very important trace mineral...NOT the sodium,  But the IODINE.  Iodine is crucial in the operation of the thyroid gland.  There are a few ways to ensure you are getting enough iodine.  FIrst, eat foods rich in iodine.  Those include deep sea fish, like salmon and halibut, shellfish, and seaweed.  If you aren't a seafood lover, then taking a supplement like Kelp or Bladderwrack may help.  There are also some great professional supplements that can be obtained in both liquid or tablet form.

Next, on the list is Vitamin D... the sunshine vitamin.  I don't know about you, but  I sure haven't had my share of the big yellow ball in the last 6 months or so.  The latest research has confirmed that folks in our area, are especially low in vitamin D.  This is a dangerous situation, since this vitamin is essential for calcium absorption, hormone balance and diffuse pain management ( in combination with EFAs).  Take the time to check out the latest information and you will find that  many of the old ideas are falling away and being replaced by good old healthy common sense.   IF you aren't getting at least 20 minutes with your trunk exposed to the sunlight during the day, you aren't getting enough.

Last is the research reports on the use of Essential Fatty Acids, especially high quality fish oil, in the control and or elimintaion of pain.  In combination with vitamin D, this opens up the pain inflammation pathways allowing the body to clear the offending chemicals from the system and decrease pain.

Hope these tidbits make you want to search for more answers.  If you would like to be tested for nutritional imbalance, please schedule an appointment for us to go over that aspect of your health.

That's it for today!  Have a healthy week!

In the next few days, I will be posting information on adult bladder dysfunction and  male prostate issues.

Many people may wonder what MothWings might mean.... I had someone question why I chose MOTH and not Butterfly...  MOTH is Mission of the Heart
WINGS has a meaning as well   Wisdom, Inspiration, Nutrition, Guidance, Simplicity.   That is what you will find in this blog as it develops.
For today, I simply say Welcome! and feel free to ask questions about health, energy,  success,  moving forward from trauma or accidents, nutrition or leave comments on what you find here.
Today's uppermost thought is Gratitude!  Being truly grateful for all the wonders that we have in our daily lives is a  daunting task, if taken on literally.  Just think about how many people were involved in the task of getting you that first cup of tea, coffee or even water.  All the hands that picked, processed, purified, all the hands that shaped, moulded, shipped, received, prepared, served... it's an amazing thing when you consider how many people's lives touch ours each day in thousands of unappreciated ways.  It makes me humble to think on this and how small I am in the world....
Have a peaceful timeframe until I meet you here again.
